CITY & GUILDS LEVEL 1 PLASTERING (10 DAYS)

This course covers all aspects of plastering skills and techniques that are needed to start a career as a professional plasterer. This high level training is given by our qualified instructors in our purpose built technical centers.

No previous experience is required to take part in this course but the completion of our introductory course to plastering will be helpful.

You will receive a City & Guilds Level 1 qualification and cover the following:

  • How to apply your first coat render with scratch finish
  • How to apply your second coat render and level off with a feather edge
  • The differences between interior and exterior finishes
  • Cutting and applying corner beads to block pillars and ensuring that they are plumb
  • Measuring and cutting plasterboard to the required size
  • Fixing plasterboard to wooden stud work
  • Skimming all joins and corners
  • Mixing plaster correctly and applying it to plasterboard with a smooth polished finish
  • Mixing plaster to the correct consistency
  • Applying plaster to plasterboard using the correct method and system
  • Obtaining a smooth professional and polished finish
